THE CHARTER OF THE TAMILNADU MEDIATION AND
CONCILIATION CENTRE
The Tamil Nadu Mediation and Conciliation Centre has been formed by the High Court of Madras to promote and facilitate court referred mediation and conciliation.
COMPOSITION OF CENTRE
The Hon’ble Chief Justice of the High Court of Madras will be the Patron of the Centre.
The Hon’ble Chief Justice will appoint a Committee of Judges to oversee the working of the Centre.
The first members of this Committee are:
Mr Justice M. Karpagavinayagam
Mr Justice P. Sathasivam
Mr Justice C. Nagappan
The first Office Bearers of the Centre are:
ORGANISING SECRETARY : Mr. Sriram R. Panchu, Senior Advocate
JOINT SECRETARY : Mr. Arvind P.Datar, Senior Advocate
CO-ORDINATORS : Mr. Yashod Vardhan, Advocate
Ms. Geeta Ramaseshan, Advocate
Ms. Aparna M. Vasu, Advocate
The Hon’ble Chief Justice may change the composition of the Committee or appoint new office bearers from time to time.
The Centre shall have an Advisory Committee which shall comprise of the following members:
Advisory Committee Members;
The President of the Madras Bar Association or his/her nominee
The President of the Madras High Court Advocates Association or his/her nominee
The President of the Women Lawyers Association or her nominee.
FUNCTIONS OF THE CENTRE
The following among others shall be the functions of the Centre:
AREA OF OPERATION
The Tamil Nadu Mediation and Conciliation Centre’s area of operation shall be the State of Tamil Nadu and the Union Territory of Pondicherry.
